Prior to Opening the TWAIN Session, the following should be done:                                                                         Set the Application's TWAIN Identity Set the Transfer Mode Select a Data Source

The application opens a TWAIN session by calling the OpenSession method. Once a Twain Session has been initiated, the application can read and modify Data Source capabilities, and specify instructions for scanning, such as scanning DPI and layout.
